Clay Hagedorn believes results are built on relationships. Getting to know his clients, their businesses, priorities, goals, and unique challenges — that is the foundation that allows him to manage and close complex real estate transactions consistent with his clients’ overall business objectives.
Recognizing that each client has individualized expectations and risk tolerances, Clay asks the right questions to understand the issues and desired outcomes that are important to each transaction. He has extensive experience representing clients in acquiring, financing, developing, leasing and selling real property, both locally and nationally. His real estate services include complex assemblages and financing; commercial, mixed-use, retail, office, condominium and industrial development projects; acquisition and sale transactions; lease negotiation; and lender and investor financing transactions.
Early experiences as an Eagle Scout and West Point cadet are fundamental to his work with clients.
“My scouting and West Point experiences were similar in that they both had a strong focus on duty, honor and country,” Clay said. “The honor code at West Point states ‘a Cadet will not lie, cheat or steal, nor tolerate those who do.’ I have a similar sense of duty when I work with clients. I’m committing to giving them my best effort and getting the job done with excellence.”
On behalf of clients, Clay coordinates every activity necessary to successfully close real estate transactions, from selection of corporate structure, entity formation and governance to drafting, reviewing and negotiating critical documents and preparing legal opinions.
“I love closing real estate transactions,” he said. “I’m thorough in my work and a creative problem-solver. It matters to me to get it right in a way that’s consistent with the client’s goals, whether that’s the vision of the project or budget constraints or both.”
