Business Litigation, Business Law and Creditors Rights
Michael Tamburini already was a seasoned financial services lawyer, experienced in commercial loan enforcement, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy litigation, when he stepped away from private practice in 2002 to manage a couple of multi-specialty physician groups.
As a C-suite health care executive, Mike applied his legal prowess to running a business, overseeing regulatory compliance, risk management, patient relations and managed care contract negotiations and construction of a 12,000-square-foot medical office building.
Having been in business owners’ shoes, Mike says, “I have a rare understanding of and an appreciation for what’s important to them. I have personally faced the challenges business owners have to address daily, such as the revenue cycle, risk management and maintaining good relations with clients and vendors.”
Mike returned to practicing law in 2010. Having experienced business from a perspective few attorneys do, he is mindful of the risks clients face and works to develop strategies that will help manage those risks.
Mike’s business edge was evident when he helped three partners in a single-asset real estate firm work through internal disputes that spanned several years, keeping dialogue open so the partners could explore options. Ultimately, two partners bought out the third, allowing the firm to stay in business and the third partner to receive fair equity from the operation.
“My experience on the business side makes my legal advice much more practical,” Mike said.
Prior to Levy Craig, Michael was Of Counsel in the financial services department of a major Kansas City-based law firm. Before that, he was administrator for two multi-specialty medical practices.
